Chaotic

 The title moments admits more than one interpretation just as in haiku:

  • I will write on a whim;
  • I'll write when I have a moment available;
  • this blog will consist of snapshots (here, again, "snapshot" admits different dimensions);
  • many or most of these moments have an element of psychology in them;
  • we are talking here simply about a chaotic wlog (wlod's blog) -- later one could organize the provided material -- it'd be interesting -- but it will not happen.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: I used to write blogs years ago, then I lost the ability of doing it. My friend M.B. got me starting blogging anew a couple months ago. These days I am even more dense than in the past hence I stopped again. Somehow, now I am giving it a new try. Thank you, MB, keep your fingers crossed for me.

I've written the above text a couple years ago. Now it is 2025-09-07, Sunday, h. 20:36 (Ann Arbor time☺). I was just advised by Margo+Richard today to try blogspot. Thus, I am trying blogspot again. It's not easy to me. For instance it's hard to upload a PDF (or any) file here.

Psoments is my neologism, it stands for moments and for psychological moments . =========================================== My first days and weeks in the US. I came there together with Ela (my wife then, and a friend forever), and with our two small daughters, Joanna (Asia), and Gosia. It was during the summer (or late spring) of 1969. We landed perhaps at LaGuardia. My uncle Bernard greeted us and took to his NY-apartment. Then we went to our destination, to Ann Arbor. Psoments -- nr.2, 2025-09-08, noon time.

 In a sense, this psoment is a continuation of the previous one: https://wlodmoments.blogspot.com/2025/09/psoments-nr1-2025-09-08-still-early.html ============================================ A conversation took place in 1976/77, downtown London (Ontario), in a restaurant. As the so-called Colloquium Chairman I invited an old friend (RIP) to give two talks, one for the mathematics department (at UWO), and the other talk for the mathematics, computer science and statistics departments (actually, for anybody who would like to listen). I invited people to the colloquiums mainly from Poland (half of them were already emigrants) because they were superb mathematicians, and everybody listening to them was happy. My old friend was not young (already at the time), he was just a bit more than ten years older than me, and clearly over forty.
